DELPHIC RECORDS LABEL LAUNCH

  • Delphic Iris Records is a new short run DIY vinyl imprint based in Berlin via Sydney, Australia and announce their label launch to celebrate their debut 12” “The Moat Remixes” by Alpha Delta as well as a limited 7” cut starting off their unknown aritsts' white label series. The Delphic Iris X Planet Wax in-store showcases sets from DI artists Drox over from Sydney, Co Owner 16 Faces based in Berlin and the mysterious techno artist Alpha Delta as well as support from London based up and comers Cress, Tom G and Dirky who are making waves in Londons percussive techno and uk bass scenes. Off their debut 12" The Moat OG Mix was recently featured as the intro track on Machine Woman’s July Rinse FM show. Recently DI Records tracks have also seen support by the likes of Dub fire, Barker, Opium Hum, Henry Greenleaf, Louise Chen, Cici and Barker to name a few. Genre/s: Techno/Electro, Uk Bass, Jungle & forward thinking percussive jams. DI Artists 16 Faces co-owns Delphic Iris Records along side Drox and is an eclectic electronic producer and DJ based in Berlin, his sound has been heavily influenced by the decade he spent in London. His DJ style is ethereal yet primal and often hard to pin down, leaning into rhythmic and experimental bass territory he is also know to wash crowds in full on ambient sound baths. He recently joined the 3024 mentoring program to hone his clubbier productions but previously has produced the ambient soundtrack for the film “Circadian” for Japanese fashion brand Beaugan and well as joining tape label Algebra of Need on their Japan tour. Keep your third eye peeled for a number of hard hitting remixes from him dropping later this year. As well as DI, Drox co-runs Analog Cabin the former studio come Sydney label. He is a mainstay of Sydney's techno and electro scene for more than twenty years. Drox has earned the respect and love of fans and has carved out an imposing yet super humble etching on the local scene. His djing style can be described as heavily influenced by electro, raw machine music, industrial and bass music in all its many forms and his sound embodies a spontaneous charm that nods to early 90s Detroit techno music, rich IDM sounds, and dystopian sci-fi tones. Little is know about the elusive techno hermit Alpha Delta other than he has a lust for analog grit and broken distortion pedals. Previously releasing on Algebra of Need Records. He was last sighted in Hackney around 2017, his current where abouts are unknown. Support by Cress is a London-based producer and DJ that delicately shifts between various tones of techno and house. Cress shows their inclination for texture and rhythm with their percussive techno tracks released on 3024’s mentoring compilation and SODAA’s decentralised VA. Comfortable with contrast, they also share the lighter side of their palette with the upcoming release of their debut EP on their own house label, Microgreens. Tom G glides through the sounds of percussive techno, dubby UK Bass, deconstructed dancehall and global club heaters with relish. Always with an eye on danceability and groove, he likes platforming experimental sound design and a challenging sonic palette. A member of Martyn’s 3024 production program for emerging artists, Tom is a resident at house & techno night Equal Parts at Grow (Hackney Wick), and has a monthly show ‘Juice Time’ on AAJA Radio in Deptford. Dirky is mates from DI crew from way back when, hailing from Perth, Australia. He is hot off his recent self released banger “Acid Info” and joins us for a high energy set in the sweet spot between modern uk techno, garage and grime.
