- After a few months on cruise control, we are excited to be back with a full throttle mentality - kicking off our return to events with the debut of Amsterdam’s MARRØN for a 4 hour set (BYO event). Co-founder and resident of Eerste Communie, MARRØN’s impressive rise in contemporary techno is underpinned by rolling clean rhythms that pay homage to African groove. Intertwining atmospheric techno with these roots gives MARRØN freedom to create intimate moments with his crowd through music, conveying hypnotic and emancipating themes. Having emerged in 2019, MARRØN has built a prolific and authentic base through Amsterdam event series Eerste Communie. Expect a refined and layered narrative from one of the most promising talents in techno, who repeatedly exceeds expectations of himself and the crowd, alike. Backed up by some hot Naarm favourites in that of newcomer Blinky, residents Chris Toff B2B Ollie Strong (Static) and emerging talent, Simrana (Weaver). With an emphasis on sound, facilitated by a formidable Funktion-One system and innovative lighting, we're more than ready to kick off our notorious summer series with a banging BYO bash! Static acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. Please note, there will be no door sales for this event. 524 Flinders has two steps upon entry. Venue staff can provide a suitable portable ramp if required. There is one toilet downstairs with level access, however it’s a relatively small space. There is one large step from the main event floor down to the chill out/smokers area.
