20 years ago this year on the 1st bank holiday Sunday in May Mansion House arrived.
Born out of a sense of frustration that Glasgow's world class clubbing scene had become stagnant and one dimensional. Our founders, on a chance visit to the Corinthian, saw what was then (and still is to this day) the most beautiful late night venue in Scotland, possibly even Britain.
Inspired by the uber cool Miss Moneypennys creation Chuff Chuff that took over stately homes and incredibly grand hotels across England we got to work planning our 1st show.
As an homage to the afore mentioned Chuff Chuff we booked Miss Moneypennys creator and main dj Jim Shaft Ryan with a plethora of the best talent Scotland had to offer.
We reached out to our partners in the event Cruise Clothing and Moet et Chandon and started trying to create something special .
How right we were 1500 of the most glamorous clubbers descended on the Corinthian and the night was incredible!! A seminal moment in Glasgow,s clubbing history. We ran for 4 years in our Ingram St home and were lucky to see some of dance musics biggest superstars pass through our doors US divas who performed live included Robin S, Adeva, Sybil, DeLacy, Barbara Tucker to name a few and our guest djs included Kerri Chandler, Copyright,Tom Novy, Groove Armada and the Mighty Dub Pistols the list is endless.
The city's club scene for most of us seems to be in the very same rut it was in then and its time to fix that with for some a nostalgic trip back to what we had but equally importantly a chance for a new generation to see just how amazing this building is and just how much it can go off!
