Rejoice! Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann, the king of Detroit House is back to declare the glad tidings of the Motor City’s raw and real, unpolished House. Monday the 2nd of October is all about celebrating Disco, Funk, House & Soul at our Blitz house of worship as we gather for the bassline communion. Moodymann, our very own Bashkka & Flo Real and are here to elevate your spirits with the life-affirming gospel of groove and swing.
For all of those new to our house of worship: Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann is one of House music’s quintessential and notorious personalities and has been one of the central figures shaping Detroit’s House legacy from the 90ies onwards, quite simply. In his own words: "I don't make music for the masses to dance to, I make not one for taking the limelight but preferring the music to take the exposure and do the talking”. Amen. We invite you to feel the magic.
Our very own Bashkka is one of the current scene’s most talked about artists: she’s been stunning dancers with her contagious and driving brand of electro-inflicted Techno and House, but her formative influences lie in New York’s queer ballroom scene. Better known for the vigorous and potent side of her selection, we believe that her passionate handling and feeling of the soulful and funky side of Disco & House is unjustly underrated. Bashkka will seduce you, just the way she seduces us every time she takes to our booth. Guaranteed.
There’s a good reason why Moodymann himself has appointed Flo Real as part of his Mahogany Music family: she knows the groove inside out and is happy to share the secret of swing.

Oktober, dreht sich in Blitz-Gotteshaus des Grooves alles um House, Funk, Disco und Soul. Moodymann, unsere Resident Bashkka & Flo Real sind gekommen um zum lebensbejahenden Gospel des Groove und Swing zu laden.
Für alle neuen Glaubensjünger: Kenny Dixon Jr. alias Moodymann gehört zu den bekanntesten und berüchtigtsten Persönlichkeiten der House-Musik und hat den Sound des Detroit House in den 90ern maßgeblich geprägt, der vergleichsweise trocken und rough, aber mit seinen deepen Basslines und laid-back Grooves kokett und verführerisch ist.
Um es mit seinen eigenen Worten zu sagen: > Ich mache keine Musik, zu der die Massen tanzen und ich bin kein Freund großer Worte, schließlich geht es einzig und alleine um die Musik. < Amen. Wir laden euch ein, Moodymann zu spüren.
Unsere Resident Bashkka gehört zu den Shootingstars der Clubszene.
Sie begeistert die Tänzer*innen mit ihrem pulsierendem, Electro-lastigem Techno und House, aber ihre prägenden Einflüsse liegen in der queeren New Yorker Ballroom-Szene. Für ihre kraftvollen und wuchtigen Grooves wird sie geschätzt, aber wir glauben, dass ihr leidenschaftliches und gefühlvolles Handling des Funk-orientierten Spektrums von Disco und House unterschätzt wird – Bashkka wird euch verführen, versprochen.
Nicht ohne Grund hat Moodymann Flo Real zu einem Member seiner Mahagoni Music Familie ernannt: Sie hat den Swing im Blut und kennt die Geheimnisse des Groove.
