- Bug In The Bass returns with a new venue and two of the fastest rising international stars Dario Zenker (Vakant/Ilian Tape/Harry Klein) and Thomas Muller (Bpitch Control). For their first exclusive Sydney show. Dario Zenker (Vakant/Ilian Tape/Harry Klein) http://www.myspace.com/dariozenker Originally from Munich, Dario Zenker is now a globally recognised and respected producer and DJ. Passionate about music from an early age, Dario was inspired by the DJs and live acts who played at Munich's Ultraschall, as well as jazz, early New York hip-hop and whatever else he could get his hands on. Consequently, his sound these days is multi-faceted, taking in elements of many forms of house and techno, but always remaining coherently structured and maintaining a consistent groove. As a DJ he has held a residency at Harry Klein since 2006, as well as performed guest sets all over Europe. As a producer, his releases on labels such as Harry Klein, his own imprint Illian Tape, and Vakant have ended up in the record boxes of some of the world's most influential techno DJs. From deep, warped grooves to dubstep and peak-time techno, expect a varied set of interesting and eclectic music. Thomas Muller (Bpitch Control) http://www.myspace.com/off1 Born in Paris and now located in Berlin, Thomas Muller has enjoyed a varied musical upbringing. Starting out as a hip-hop fan, The Prodigy's "Fat Of The Land" greatly changed the course of his musical journey at the age of 15. When Plastikman's landmark "Consumed" grabbed his attention, Muller knew electronic music was his calling, and he began to listen to whatever electronic music he could find, including music from the likes of Pole, Alexander Kowalski, Josh Wink, Carl Cox, Roni Size and Squarepusher. This diverse taste in music has given Muller's productions a refined combination of dancefloor appeal, intelligence and soul. Since 2007, Muller has been based in Berlin and has been releasing music on the highly regarded Bpitch Control label, and remixed pioneers such as Telefon Tel Aviv. Expect deep, crunchy grooves with a unique sense of space and minimalism. Joining our international guests are local tastemakers Daniel Lupica, Andrew Wowk, Altay Altin and Matt Gatt, all of whom have plenty of credentials in the house and techno scene in Sydney.
