ACIDULANT (LAZER Records, RAIM, Fgura, MT)
Neil Hales. Multi-talented Maltese producer, DJ and acid freak in the best sense of the word. 15 years on the scene full of enthusiasm and passion for the classic TB-303 sound in its thousand forms. Pounding and energetic bangers, pulsating electro nebulae, slower spaced out trancey jams or 90's revivalism. On one side rush and wild euphoria, on the other melancholy, atmospheres and depths of emotional beauty. Dozens of releases of these pure stylistic forms and layered eclectic fusions have been released on labels like DJ Pierre's Jack Trax Records (US), Posthuman's Balkan Vinyl (UK), Acid Avengers (FR), Orson Records (UK), Acidworx (JPN) and the Dutch Zodiak Commune. In 2019, he remixes the monumental late 80s classic Acid Track by Phuture alongside the genre's biggest artists. Under the ambient pseudonym Collateral Intelligence, he also collaborates with visual artists, dancers and actors and is the co-founder of the Electronic Music Malta (EMM) platform — a non-profit organisation promoting electronic music in all its forms on the Maltese islands.
GHÁNDÍ (Spiritual Sound System, Acidelika, Prague, CZ)
Deeply affected and permanently changed by the soundsystem subculture of the 1990s, he founded the Spiritual Sound System platform in 2000, rooted and indelibly inscribed in the mycelium of the Czech electronic underground. Founder of the regular Acidelika session on Prague's Radio 1, expanding since 2011 into eponymous events featuring such names as Neil Landstrumm, Jerome Hill, Ben Pest, Radioactive Man, Dave Tarrida, Dapayk, Bruno Pronsato, Luke's Anger and Hanno Hinkelbein. Gandhi's strictly vinyl selections reflect a wealth of experience, a fidelity to his own sound and a strong personal vision that has come to fruition over time. Oldschool acid, techno, electro, rave and breaks. Many shades. One story. One base. Under the name Mystic Sky, he is also currently active in the slower realms of contemporary club tribal sound.
SURREALITA & MAKROPULOS (Dekadance, Olomouc, CZ)
Sync at the first sight. The duo Surrealita and Makropulos represent the Olomouc—Brno Dekadance collective. Dramaturgically, they participate in the music section of the AFO festival and for the second year they are releasing sessions on Brno based Infame Radio. Behind the mix — interplay, fresh vibes and continuous on point selection of dreamy synths, trancey breaks, clever techno, house and electro well underlining successful performances at SHTGN festival and as support for such names as Shanti Celeste or Priori.
