Before diving into details of our next and final excursion of the year, we want to acknowledge the collective pain & trauma felt by our people on a global level. We hope for a world where peace & love truly prevails above all and condemn any form of hate & colonial oppression. All crew feeling hopeless, stressed or defeated, remember Planet Groovy is an intentional gathering for celebration of mankind through sound with love at the root of it all. We are holding space for musical therapy and spiritual rejuvenation and we’ll be mentally preparing ourselves to host you with all of the above in mind.
Nov 11 boogie details, here we go. We’ve gone and assembled an eclectic crew for this ride. New York, Newark, Montreal Amsterdam all represented. Master of the happy hour DJ zone, local legend and conductor of NY’s beloved Nowadays club, Tiny T Bone will be doing the honor of opening us up with deep playful refreshing frequencies. Following after is Montreal’s musical powerhouse, the one and only out of this world RAMZi (aka Ramzilla aka phubu aka DJ Fati) with a live set that’s sure to take us on an engulfing whimsical adventure through the ever morphing musical landscapes of her world. As we reach peak boogie hours, Newark’s renowned Club God & co-founder of the flavorful Like That Records label, Ase Manual will be piloting the spaceship, seamlessly maneuvering between soulful booty-bounce bops and hypnotizing melodic bubblers. A super special Secret Guest from Amsterdam will be rocking the dance next with her signature mind-bending DJ sets organically molded with crystalline melody and intricate rhythms. That’s all we can share for now. Rounding out the bill are your hosts with the most, Akanbi & DJ Temporary tasked with landing the groovy spaceship back to the earth in classic fashion.
Per usual, the masterminds working lighting & sound, Gum Gum Studio & SubBass Sound System will be engineering the spaceship for a seamless ride. We absolutely about to feel something so real, music magic no doubt.
