Lost Valley returns to The Carpet Shop for another edition of dance music exploration, featuring the wonderful Hannah Thurlow live, alongside residents Kid Who, Odd Lust and Salmagundi.
Born in Ireland and raised in Bristol, producer and live performer Hannah Thurlow spent her youth skateboarding and playing music in local bands. Her early west country music influences can be heard in her music today - drum n bass, Portishead, Massive Attack, and heavy metal. In her teens, she picked up her first synths and became fascinated by the world of modular and electronic music. Exploring the beautiful intricacies of percussion and rhythm have marked Hannah's evolution as an artist - her releases are often crafted through hardware, modular and sampling live drums in the studio and running them through different machines to create off kilter rhythms.
As a producer and composer Hannah has a diverse skillset. Her debut EP, All The Time Part One was released in 2021 followed by the River EP early this year, which received plays on BBC Radio One, BBC6 Music and BBC One Extra, before her new EP, Grip was released on 3rd November. Hannah also composes soundtracks and sound design for fashion and film, including the score for an installation at the 3537 Gallery in Paris in the summer, working on runway shows such as Vivienne Westwood, and sound design for Nike, OffWhite and many more. Hannah has been featured in various music publications, including Music Tech magazine and was Composer of the Month in Composer Magazine. We can't wait to hear her genre-bending experimental club sound over the Carpet Shop's Funktion-One!
Lost Valley is a new night running the third Thursday of the month at The Carpet Shop, Peckham.
Expect dance sounds on and off the beaten track as we embark on our adventure in search of the Lost Valley.
