- For episode 007 our next guest needs no introduction as Night Slugs co-founder and label head - but while we are here, let's not be sleepy. Founded in 2008 alongside Dance System, Bok Bok oversaw Night Slugs become a beacon of the UK sound releasing timeless classics. This work has impacted the musical landscape reconfiguring club music and seeping ideas into the mainstream so be clear, our dance floor wouldn't be the same otherwise because Night Slugs is responsible for releasing some of the most played tracks at TIFF! Bok Bok is an esteemed producer and engineer in their own right who has released a slew of knockout solo releases, contributed to compilations for Manara and PDA, mastered records for the likes of FAUZIA and Kelela, and launched their own label [AP Life] in 2021 as a nod to the DJ and dubplate culture he grew up on so sounds of funky/deep house, gqom and rolling London sounds will be in the air for sure! As a DJ they held down a long-standing yet constantly evolving Rinse FM Residency and DJ'd across Europe and the US so we are geeked to add COLUMBUS OH / TIFF to that impressive list and can't wait to curate a line-up that conditions our world building.
