  • Join us for the next RA Community Connections (RA CC), a series of daytime events, radio shows, meetups and workshops in collaboration with local collectives, community spaces, record stores and radio stations. Coordinated and co-organised by RA’s Global Content Network, this series brings together the multitude of voices that shape local electronic music communities. This time around, we’re heading to Johannesburg, where we’ll collaborate with P_ssy Party, a local community event organiser breaking barriers in club culture, and Lilies Radio, a local online radio station known for celebrating diverse communities across art, music and culture. Since its inception in 2016, P_ssy Party has significantly contributed to South African club culture and dance music through a variety of parties, initiatives and workshops. For this event, the collective will facilitate a panel discussion focusing on the growth of the electronic music scene in Johannesburg, delving into accessibility, event organisation and community-building strategies. The panel will feature key figures from some of Johannesburg’s biggest club nights and parties. P_ssy Party will not only facilitate the conversation but also provide space for interactions between the panel and those in attendance. In addition to this panel discussion, the event will also host a mixer at Melville’s vibrant creative hub, The Plug. The mixer will be soundtracked by residents from local station Lilies Radio, a community-focussed organisation that also operates as a record label and events platform. This collaboration aims to explore Johannesburg’s thriving scene, bridging connections between various local communities and celebrating the unique nightlife the city has to offer. ***This is a free event***
