RODNEY (The Black Lodge / LA)
Rodney fully immursed himself in the San Francisco Underground Music scene for 7 years before moving back to Los Angeles in 2020 after pursuing a deeper muiscal knowledge. He fine-tuned his skills under a unique mentorship with Tyrel Williams and his unwavering love for playing vinyl quickly extended into his life away from his decks at home ushering him to working at Vinyl Dreams and RS94109; two of San Francisco's most beloved record stores. Rodney is already becoming an LA Underground staple, dropping heat with Elbow Grease, The Black Lodge, and The Weird Science.

WERD began as a meet up amongst a few music friends at the end of their weekend. They sought a tucked-out-of-the-way venue to bring underground house and techno to Sunday nights in San Francisco. Otis, on Maiden Lane, became the weekly home for a round up of buds, artists, and co-workers, who all found refuge in music at this small space. Sunday night became the high-light of the group’s week. Soon they began inviting others down to join in the dj booth. Since the first WERD Sunday over 600+ artists & DJs have graced the decks, all the while 14 contributing residents have helped to keep WERD a weekly affair. The venue has changed, some of the residents have come and gone, but the focus remains the same to this day; The love for community, the connection through dance, and the excitement of sharing Underground House & Techno in the city by The Bay.
