WHP10 NYD Closing Party

  • LAST ENTRY 11.30PM ... in association with Resident Advisor. The seminal event underneath Manchester Piccadilly Station, The Warehouse Project, which sees music fans from across the UK descend on the North West to pay homage to their favourite bands and DJs, has today announced its closing party for the WHP10 series of events. The WHP10 Closing Party on New Years Day 2011 will see the clubbing fraternity continue their New Years celebrations into 2011, with a line up of DJs that will set the pulse racing for thousands of dance fans across the UK. Headliner Dubfire, known to his parents as Ali Shirazinia made his name as one half of the four time nominated and Grammy Award winning duo, Deep Dish. Now a world class DJ in his own right his style has seen his sound move progressively from that of the hugely successful Deep Dish. As one of the biggest names in deep house, Dubfire’s New Years Day set will be the first time he returns to the UK following his landmark world tour, a do not miss occasion for all fans. Flying in from the US especially for the event will be the underground dance music DJ and legendary producer Derrick Carter. The night also sees two UK born artists who are making big waves in the electronic scene right now, WHP resident Jamie Jones and Berlin based Cassy taking to the decks. Damian Lazarus the man in charge of the ground- breaking Crosstown Rebels label, will also be providing WHP with a one-off set whilst keeping a close eye on his proteges Jones and US DJ and producer duo Soul Clap, the label is very much at the forefront of electronica today, pioneering the move away from the minimal scene into a deeper fresher sound. The line up announced today also includes Heidi, Krysko, Greg Lord and the promise of more great names to be announced in the following weeks and months. Having launched last week; The Warehouse Project’s WHP 10 series has started a 14 week-long autumn and winter party schedule that will test even the hardened party goer. The Manchester super-promoters have set their stool out this year, to celebrate their fifth anniversary, with an eclectic mix of all genres of musical tastes, dubstep, RnB, techno, rock, pop and synth-heavy indie music will all share the same stage at the underground disused car park venue in Manchester. The interest has been phenomenal this year and three more shows are now “sold out” with MINUS (15th October), Metropolis Birthday (6th November) and Curated by Keiran Hebden (25th November). The Warehouse Project’s Store Street events underneath Manchester Piccadilly Station have for years been a setting for some of the finest names in electronic music, where world renowned acts and DJs play to 2,000 revellers in a visually stunning industrial space. Known for bringing together the best names across all genres of dance music, as well as some of the best live acts from around the world, it has become an internationally recognised yearly event. The series this year includes over 30 different nights across three months, encompassing a wide range of stylistically varied events, from exclusive live performances to DJ sets.
