Eine weitere Ausgabe der von Lakuti und Tama Sumo liebevoll kuratierten Partyreihe Your Love mit zwei Gast-DJs aus den USA, deren Loblied man nicht zu hoch anstimmen kann. Als „the dancer's DJ“ bezeichnete der aus New Jersey stammende DJ Qu sich einmal selbst, was nicht nur eine Referenz an seine DJ-Fähigkeiten ist, sondern auch auf seinen Background als weltreisender House-Tänzer in den 90er Jahren sowie als ehemaliger Resident bei der New Yorker HouseDanceConference verweist. DJ Qu hat als Producer in den vergangenen zwei Dekaden vor allem auf seinem eigenen Label Strenght Music veröffentlicht und einen eigenen, dunklen Voodoo-House-Sound kreiert. Mark Grusane verfügt als ehemaliger Bettreiber des Plattenladens Mr. Peabody Records in Chicago über ein fundiertes Wissen über die Dancemusik-Geschichte nicht nur seiner eigenen Stadt. Vor allem die Zeit zwischen Mitt-70er und Mitt-80er Jahren haben es ihm angetan, auf BBE erschienen insgesamt drei exzellente, von ihm zusammengestellten Compilations mit Disco-, Soul- und Funk-Raritäten aus dieser Ära. Seine eigene Musik, die er auf Labels wir Rush Hour oder seinem eigenen Disctechno veröffentlicht, ist Oldschool Chicago House at it's best – jack your ass off!
Another edition of the Your Love party series, lovingly curated by Lakuti and Tama Sumo, this time presenting two guest DJs from the USA whose praise cannot be overstated. New Jersey-born DJ Qu once described himself as “the dancer's DJ”, which is not only a reflection of his DJ skills but also refers to his background as a world-traveling house dancer in the 90s and as a former resident at the New York HouseDanceConference. DJ Qu has also been producing for the past two decades, releasing mainly on his own label Strength Music, creating his own dark voodoo house sound. Mark Grusane, known in Chicago as the former co-owner of the record store Mr. Peabody Records, has a profound knowledge of dance music history reaching far beyond his own city. He is particularly fond of the sounds of the mid-70s through mid-80s, having released three excellent compilations of disco, soul and funk rarities from this era on BBE. His own music, which he releases on labels such as Rush Hour or his own Disctechno, is old-school Chicago house at its best – jack your ass off!
