Jeremy Wade is a performance artist. His works, also incorporating curation and social practice, are disturbing and thought-provoking: they revolve around queer / feminist strategies of world making, the relational ethics of care, neo liberal critique and the violence that social norms cause on bodies. A graduate from SNDO, Amsterdam, in 2000 Wade received a Bessie Award for Glory at Dance Theater Workshop in New York City. He lives and works in Berlin since 2006. He has created Fountain, Death Asshole Rave Video, Drawn Onward, Between Sirens and The Clearing, where Puddles the Pelican first appeared. Since then Wade collaborates with Darcey Bennett, both are in service of their favorite show Pelican, a busted bird who sings songs and tells stories from the basement of a cruise ship floating through hell with her band The Creatures from the Deep. Together they presented shows at Mousonturm, HKW, Tanzquartier Wien, and Fusion Festival.
