The Mansions resident and SR Tokyo alumni is no stranger to the Bossa booth, having originally cut his teeth there. As the night begins to unfold and the fog machine sputters to life, expect the sounds of swirling machines and ethereal melodies underpinned by irresistible rhythms. Holidays at Bossa, as veterans can attest, can be times of meaningful catharsis and community. With that in mind we can scarcely think of anyone better suited to this occasion than LYCHEE. Longtime resident of Bossa’s iconic Distrikt 1 party, in recent years Lychee has redoubled their commitment to community building through their work promoting safer spaces in nightlife, curation of the mix/interview series Spontaneous Affinity, and contributions to the queer-centered meditative rave series Antidote. Tonight we’ll be treated to the fruits of many years spent on, beyond, and within the dancefloor — Lychee’s penchant for psychedelic textures, tastefully relentless grooves and immense synthetic soundscapes take center stage as they guide us past midnight with their deft touch and keen ear. As a “scene staple”, I can say with no uncertainty there are fewer dedicated fixtures of NYC dancefloors than ESCAFLOWNE. All his time in the dance and the studio has clearly paid off and made him equally at home in DJ booths across New York, where he effortlessly weaves across genre, between emotions and through energies. Escaflowne’s Audio Explorations residency on Lot Radio demonstrates a scholarly and genuinely passionate appreciation for all kinds of music. His chameleonic command of genre is perhaps best displayed in a spellbinding Nowadays nonstop recording that curls from mysterious slow-mo soundscapes into weirdo house, plush garage, 90s-esque slammers and everything in between. The fact that Escaflowne’s sound is so delightfully difficult to summarize is precisely the reason we’re excited to see what’s in store for us as the night begins to boil. Now… imagine this - it’s 4AM and the fog is thinning in the harsh end-of-night lights. The music’s just stopped, and you look around to see your fellow dancers — sweaty, smiling faces swaying to celebrate another night of impeccable music and vibes. Trust us - your imagination will be reality when you treat yourself to a fierce DJ DEADNAME closing set. Originally hailing from North Carolina, the Tower co-founder’s sound is charged with energy, tension and a sense of controlled chaos. Across their scintillating club sets and radio excursions some throughlines emerge - weblike syncopations, grooves that seem to propel themselves, finessed distortion and sublime cinematic refrains. For artists with such a strong and singular vision of music and dance, hearing is believing — see you in front of the subwoofer. 10-11:30 - DLC 1130-1 - Lychee 1-230 - Escaflowne 230-4 - DJ DEADNAME Come early, stay late & get down.
