Polari Records ist das Hi-NRG-House-Label von Cormac. Der Name bezieht sich auf einen schwulen Slang, der bis zur Legalisierung homosexueller Handlungen Ende der 60er Jahre in der englischen Subkultur verbreitet war - eine sich ständig verändernde Mischung aus Italienisch, Englisch, Zirkusslang, Jiddisch und Romani. Mit Josh Caffé wird die Polari-Labelnacht in der Panorama Bar von einem supercharismatischen Live-Act begleitet, der sich als DJ, Produzent und Sänger einen Namen gemacht hat - sei es mit seinen Solo-Produktionen, als Frontmann der Acidhouse-Gruppe Paranoid London oder als Feature-Gast bei Honey Dijon. Ein relativer Label-Newcomer (Dolly EP, ein Polari-Wort für hübsch) ist der Franzose Jordan Nocturne, der seit seinem 13. Lebensjahr auflegt und bereits auf Correspondant, Permanent Vacation oder seinem eigenen Label Nocturne veröffentlicht hat. Dazu gibt es weitere DJ-Sets von Chinaski, fka.m4a, dem Glasgower Duo LEZZER QUEST und Romy. Heartcore vibes!
Polari Records is a hi-NRG house label run by Cormac. The name refers to the slang of gay subculture in Britain until the legalization of homosexual acts in the late 60s – a constantly evolving mixture of Italian, English, circus jargon, Yiddish and Romani. The Polari label night at Panorama Bar welcomes Josh Caffe, a super-charismatic live act who has also made a name for himself as a DJ, producer and vocalist – be it with his solo productions, as frontman of the acid house group Paranoid London or as a featured guest with Honey Dijon. Visiting from France, Jordan Nocturne – relatively new to the label with the Dolly EP (its title means “pretty” in Polari) – has been DJing since the age of 13 and has released on Correspondant, Permanent Vacation and his own label Nocturne. There will also be DJ sets from Chinaski, fka.m4a, Glasgow duo LEZZER QUEST and Romy. Heartcore vibes!
