SHUSH is thrilled to welcome one of our favourite selectors and producers, as well as a true master on the decks – DJ Spinna – to our next function in Berlin.
As a producer, DJ Spinna has shaped the musical world that we inhabit in a multitude of ways since the 90s. Carving out his initial path in hip hop – as founding member of The Jigmastas, as well as working with De La Soul, Yasiin Bey, Phonte of Little Brother and many more – he soon ventured into the dance music scene, where he’s been equally as proficient.
Crafting worldwide dancefloor anthems such as his remix of Shaun Escoffery’s ‚Days Like This’, he’s also released the now-classic album Here To There for BBE in 2002, showcasing his trademark fusion of soulful, contemporary and beat-driven music in all shapes, forms and tempos.
As a DJ, we know few who can simultaneously rock a crowd as well as create deep moments of spiritual unity on the dancefloor. His sets are an embodiment of the musical eclecticism of his Brooklyn, NYC upbringing, and we’ve witnessed him go between the most different styles with breathtaking ease.
He hasn’t played in Berlin for a number of years and we can’t wait to have him join us for our gathering in February. Musically, the SHUSH selectors will warm up the room before DJ Spinna takes over. Our trusted sound system will be there on the night, and regulars already know the wooden dancefloor and beautiful surroundings of our beloved home in Pankow.
