We continue our retro futuristic journey into 2024 by flying in Italian Amarcord to our first event of this year.
Amarcord has made some of our favorite tracks the last few years including his globally supported hits on Ritmo Fatale; ‘Friends - They Come & Go’ and ‘Oxygen’ (with his Trance moniker ‘Supermarc’). His productions have been appreciated and supported by some of the most influential taste-makers in the underground club scene, from all-time legends like the late Andrew Weatherall and Laurent Garnier to to the new generation acts like Avalon Emerson or Ela Minus.
Between romantic lullabies and dark atmospheres, Amarcord’s music shows a profound love for the New Wave, Italo Disco and Trance sounds of the past, re-imagined by the modern waves of electronic and dance music.
And just like our first night at Slakthuset, we’ve gone full circle and booked the other half of “Pardon Moi” with his new duo: Sex Kino. As you know, we’re big fans of the Pardon Moi superhit “Power To The People”, which I’m sure all of you have heard. And I can tell you this; Sex Kino got equally cool releases coming out soon, one of them being a remix for Club Mackan and another one being an LP for Soil Records.
Sex Kino is the musical project of James Brook and Josefine Larsson. And perhaps this may surprise you, but Sex Kino is actually based in Stockholm, although they tend to perform much more outside of Sweden. Their music spans several genres. Think 80s Dark Disco, Italo and New Wave meets Acid and a hint of trance.
