Complexity presents an evening of dance-forward, groove-oriented underground techno played on vinyl, in a unique, intimate space, with live analog visuals displayed on retro TVs.
STE-VÍ (New York) - @ste_vi__
Originally hailing from Cork, Ireland, New York-based techno artist STE-VÍ is renowned for his fusion of driving techno and groove. STE-VÍ draws inspiration from the late ‘90s and early ‘00s techno era, infused with modern groove. His style incorporates a fast-paced blend of loops, percussion, and rhythm to create an innovative sound uniquely his own. STE-VÍ takes the helm at event collective Solace Rytm, a mainstay in New York's techno scene, which spreads the gospel of rhythm & groove.
R-ODERICK - @r_od3rick
Closing out the evening is Toronto underground legend, R-oderick. His sets are excitingly varied and distinct; pulling in a wide range of musical influences, fusing hard hitting sounds into a masterfully engaging experience, in the truest sense of the word. His heavy productions have gained him global recognition with releases on Sonic Groove, WET TRAX, ORO, Jericho One, and Pinkman. He has played multiple Boiler Room sets under his varied aliases, Tresor in Berlin, Electric Island, and many more. He is part of the cumcrew who run Combo Breakers, a collective that has been the recipient of several 'RA pick' events.

RestLes - @lechsoundsinstrumental
From brass instruments and wrinkled sheet music to Gemini decks and 90s groove boxes, RestLes has been tirelessly pursuing music for decades. He continues propelling forward, recently playing for various collectives including Kaleidoscope, Elektro Kult, and Common Ground. He's initiated several collaborative projects through RestLes Invites - dabbling in DnB, hip hop, reggae - breaking the barriers of various musical scenes in Toronto. Techno is a predominant RestLes passion. His technical sets feature heavy 909-drenched rhythms accompanied by pulsating grooves.
Ryan King - @ryan_king____
A true selector! Dark, driving, hypnotic and deep techno - masterfully blended in a way that locks dancers into a state of reverie. Originally from Australia, Ryan has found a way to make music unite people across all continents and hemispheres. A vinyl purist that's been on the decks since the early 2000s, Ryan has a passion for all things underground and continues to push the boundaries through his music productions and DJ sets.
Daniel Schutten - @daniel.william.s
Originally a multi-instrumentalist experienced with drums, hand percussion, dabbling in bass, guitar, piano, and more, Daniel Schutten later began DJing as a natural extension of his love for electronic music. Daniel Schutten weaves sonic tapestries that elevate the points where tracks are layered together, with an affinity for driving percussion meshed with ethereal sounds. Daniel keeps a strong sense of rhythm going throughout the mix, opting to create ebb & flow in outside-the-box ways that keep dancers on their toes.

*There will be a fully licensed bar. No outside alcohol permitted.

*Complexity is dedicated to showcasing turntablism in underground dance music. It’s born out of the belief that there is something special that happens between the DJ and audience when the DJ has a tactile relationship with the music being played. With no loops or sync button, there is a continually needed presence and focus, which creates a captivating flow, full of suspense and drama.
