AAJA is very pleased to officially announce the launch of its new space ‘The Basement’. Powered by an F1 system, this 100 capacity venue promises many a pumping intimate shindig to come.
For this opening party, we’ve teamed up with Berlin based label Ecke Records to showcase a heavyweight, and delightfully eclectic lineup.
Coming over from Bristol, we’re delighted to present Om Unit. A true legend of the scene, known not only for his clinical production skills, which have seen him release on some of the dopest labels out there, but also his breadth & depth as a selector; we are giving Jim 3 hours to truly let loose.
On to our next act, Enchanted Rhythms. Rich is known for his deep digging, far-out productions & mixing style that covers a plethora of styles; unearthing rarities that usually has the spot filled with disappointed Shazamers & steadfast heads-down dancers alike.
Now we introduce Toxido Mask, who is celebrating her new-found residency at the infamous Techno institution Tresor, Berlin. Julia is a sound designer by trade whose natural inclination towards deeply texture audio makes her a real treat to behold when applying this in more of a Bass music context.
Up next, we have AAJA resident Bahow. Anna can be heard fusing breakbeat, broken beat, techno, house with influences of jazz, r'n'b, otherworldly ambient and film music throughout. Not one to miss if you are a purveyor of deep, melodic, percussive and atmospheric sound.
Closing down the show is Ecke Records own Squallfront, a DJ & production duo consisting of Suno Soniason & Xantrax. As a duo, J&P pride themselves on far flung, avant-garde mixing; bending the perception of the audience, with chin strokes making way for bassfaces (and vice versa) all over the floor.
