  • THE ANARCHIST DISCO the original roving punk rock disco founded in 1995 and having had parties in NYC, LA, HI, SF, OAK & SJ returns for a special TEA DANCE celebrating MLK holiday at SPIRE. the Church Music provided by your musical guides Steve Fabus who is an American disc jockey from Chicago, known for popularizing the 1970s version of the tea dance style of Sunday disco dancing, as well as the gay bathhouse sound of San Francisco having had residencies at the I-Beam, the Trocadero Transfer and The EndUp, at the New York City River Club, Tracks & at Probe, Axis and Asylum in Los Angeles. After returning to SF he started GoBang! a long standing disco party at the STUD! Steve continues to delight dancers around the globe. Pete Avila created Osmosis, SF's first weekly RAVE NIGHT & is one of Bay Area's original house DJs. Pete is best known as producer of 106KMEL's 'Your Mama's House' Bay Area's original House Mixshow and has been one of the bay areas top dj's for over 30 years. Neon Leon raised in Oakland, started in the mid-’80s as a hip-hop DJ on KALX, later he earned his stripes as a club DJ at the I-Beam. Leon is well-known in London, Germany & among house music fans everywhere. As a vocalist he has had releases for both N-Fusion & Strictly Rhythm Records. He also held residencies at San Francisco's most legendary house music clubs: Care Free, Club Faith and Fag Friday (The Endup), where he held a residency for six years, alongside contemporaries DJ Pete Avila, and David Harness & DJ Blackstone. DJ Spun is a Producer and DJ originally from Northern California. Owns and operates the Rong Music label. Since 2003 he has headed up the label, a dual imprint collaboration with DFA, Tu Rong , and finally Promo Only - which brought the world wide disco edit craze to America. He is one half of the Loose Control Band with Jonah Sharpe of Space Time Continuum & was the curator of the Summer Warm Up Series at PS1 Museum in Brooklyn. His productions are based in the Electronic genre, but his personal journey through music began with punk rock then through hip hop and the birth of House and continues to this day. Visual stimulation by JAHL Donovan Drummond founder of the Psychedelic Light Show Preservation Society / LightsOut! Lightshow (blowing minds since '89) & disorganizer of the Anarchist Disco is curating a special show utilizing vintage lightshow material for this Jahl reunion show. Jerry Abrams(1940-2010) was a director and cinematographer. His performance art group Jerry Abrams Head Lights was one of the pioneers of concert "light shows" in the late '60s. in the 80's the show was revived and had residencies at several SF night clubs as well as being the in house light artist for the SPAZZ collective. his show became a sort of college of sorts for SF style psychedelic lightshows and out of its alumni sprang over a half dozen lightshows that carry on the tradition thru to the present day.
