Symbiosis blasts into 2024 with two wicked local headliners, a clash of the old school and the new...
// Brynk [Niteshift / Edinburgh] //
Brynk's passion for all things Drum & Bass extends back many years, but 2023 was the year that saw him make some serious moves in the Scottish scene. After making connections with fellow heads at Edinburgh's Sunday Service community events, Brynk (alongside Ominous, Nabee and Nova) launched Niteshift in Edinburgh in January of last year. The new night quickly captured a dedicated following, packing out the infamous Mash House middle room with ravers and delivering a bouncy, full spectrum take on the D&B sound.
This success has opened doors for Brynk, with appearances at Metropolis, Midnight Bass, Alien Disko, Bass Injection (supporting the mighty Mob Tactics) and the final instalment of Junglism's legendary castle party. We're hyped to welcome a bright new talent of the Scottish scene for his debut set at Symbiosis!
// JL Boco [Red Alert / Dumfries] //
JL Boco (or James Leven, to his mum) returns to Symbiosis after a lengthy hiatus to bring some old school flavour to our February event. A founding member of Dumfries institution Red Alert (alongside Symbiosis' own Alcane), James has been mixing since the late 90s, cutting his teeth in Dumfries before bringing the Red Alert sound to Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond, with appearances at a host of early 2000s nights in the heyday of the Scottish scene.
Fast forward some 20 years and James is more commonly found mixing breaks, funk and electro under his Jimmy Turbo alias, but the passion for the rapid fire D&B sound has never left him so we're pleased to welcome him back to the Symbiosis decks - expect vintage Drum & Bass business from a bona fide scene legend.

Providing support on the night will be Symbiosis residents Alcane, Hex & Calaco Jack who'll be warming up the dancefloor with a selection of fresh D&B and jungle cuts. Expect a mixture of brand new beats and classic anthems!
