- Paradox presents: Amotik + Measure Divide + Venus in Foil Berlin-based Amotik is known for his driving, energetic, and atmospheric sound. He has cemented his position as a versatile figure in modern techno with his heavy-hitting selections and gentle mixing skills, that enable him to take dancers on a journey while they ride the sonic waves he conjures up. His style is best described as hypnotic and dreamy, with an uncompromisingly raw undertone. Since 2023, Amotik has been at the heart of his own label AMTK+, which serves up some of the most corrosive, jaw-breaking, knee-buckling material in the field of techno, but also some of the most intriguing beatless, ambient-friendly gems. His busy touring schedule has seen him play at countless underground institutions such as De School (rip), Berghain, Fuse, Khidi and Printworks (to name a few). Hosting AMTK Radio, he delivers carefully curated sets, inviting guest artists and providing insightful commentary on the music and his guests whilst sharing the occasional Berlin weather update. Playing alongside Amotik are two Toronto mainstays who hardly need an introduction. You’ve certainly seen their names on flyers around the city: With his long awaited to return to the Paradox decks, Measure Divide will be showcasing his stripped down, groovy sound for us. While he his known for his event collective Format, throwing some of the most off-the-chain warehouse parties in Toronto, Measure Divide has released on Clergy, Mutual Rhythm, Illegal Alien Records, and more. Fr… catching him play outside of his own parties in our city is quite a treat. Setting the tone for the night will be Venus in Foil; Founder of SOAK; a collective focused on supporting marginalized individuals and gender expressions at the experimental edges of electronic music. Venus in Foil is known for her genre blending sets as she plays with tension and release - shifting between sexy, slowed down sluggers, high-octane techno, chunky tech-house chuggers and slippery psychedelic selections.
