TAKAAKI ITOH
Techno hit Japan hard in the early 1990s. Surprised, Takaaki Itoh was quickly impressed and intrigued with this new sound. The unique style of beats revealed the gateway to a new world of underground music in Japan - something he had never heard before. Surprise slowly gave way to addiction when Takaaki Itoh was exposed to the sounds of such artists and labels as Underground Resistance, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Hardfloor, Sven Väth, Harthouse, Warp and Rising High. This was his sound, and deciding he just couldn't get enough of it, in 1994 Takaaki began to organize his own techno parties in his home of northern Japan. By providing a fantastic lineup, his parties quickly became a success.
In 1996, Takaaki started producing music and released his first album on Electracom UK. Without compromising on quality, his appeal has grown exponentially, making him a must-see artist in the world techno scene. In the past 20 years, he has released his music on labels like Mord, Tsunami, Warm Up, Modularz, and more. Takaaki Itoh’s music is a combination of growling, mystical, and amorphous sounds that slowly ramp up the mood, leaving the listener spellbound.
MIKE PARKER
As a DJ, Parker rose through the mid-1990s as a mainstay in the US’s emerging warehouse party scene. His hypnotic, abstract and hard-hitting approach to performing earned him a highly respected reputation and further increased his devoted following. His wealth of experience in the booth has been acquired with regular performances across North America, Europe and Asia making Parker a well-seasoned underground veteran.
From his humble beginnings to the present-day Mike Parker has amassed an impressive list of credentials paving his own lane with a unique style that breathes innovation yet honours the true values of techno. And after 20 years in the game, Mike is still a dominant figure that continues to carve his own niche in the ever-expanding world of electronic music.
