Danny Daze
Steeped in Miami’s B-boy culture, classic electro, and Miami bass ignited Danny Daze’s love for the experimental Dutch electro and Detroit Techno scenes of the '90s. Labels like Schematic in Miami, Interdimensional Transmissions from Detroit, and Viewlexx from The Hague laid the foundation for Daze. Adopting his moniker at his mother's suggestion, Daze started spinning at weddings by age 14, channeling earnings into vinyl for rave gigs.
Daze’s risk-taking and punk approach is at the core of everything he does and it’s a big part of the ethos of his current label, Omnidisc. “We’re not searching for chart topping hits. We’re more interested in curating a catalog of music you’ll remember when you walk out the door. We seek out tracks that are as raw as possible & welcome imperfections. We love the charm of an unpolished record”, says Daze.
As a DJ, he prefers to express his versatility across long sets. He is known to cut & weave from Electro to Techno into Italo Disco, into a record by Yazoo deliberately intended to provoke a reaction. “I once played a Paula Abdul record at Berghain… basically, it’s like it or leave it,” says Daze. As a producer, his output ranges from releases on Kompakt’s Speicher series, to remixes on Phantasy, Comeme, Monkeytown and more… but he also reaches far beyond techno with original runway soundtracks for award-winning American streetwear designer John Elliott, and the Australian brand Song for the Mute.
Jijian
Bucharest based technohead, constantly drawn to basic ambient music, with long synths and beautiful harmonies, Jijian has shared decks with artists like Jeff Mills, Miss Kittin, Credit 00, Zadig, Blawan, Shifted, Mick Wills, Answer Code Request, and many more.
Borusiade
Born and raised in Bucharest, Borusiade aka Miruna Boruzescu started DJ-ing in 2002 as one of the very few female DJs in the city’s emerging alternative clubbing scene. Influenced by a classical musical education, a bachelor’s degree in film direction and fascinated by raw electronic sounds, Borusiade combined these universes in the construction of her DJ sets and also in her music production since 2005. Her sound is gloomy and epic, with beats that touch one’s deepest senses on the dance-floor. After relocating to Berlin and experimenting with different projects, Borusiade slowly crystallized a sound of her own, often dark, with poignant bass lines, obsessive themes and by all means melodic.
