The Beat! present their punk-funk-disco party at The Alibi with two very special guests - a live set from hotly tipped post-punk merchants Detachments and a late night dj set from World Unknown and Dissident main-man Andy Blake.
Dj support comes from Astrolab's ZNTN, ThisIsNotAnExit's Simon A. Carr and The Beat's resident djs.

With support from creative luminaries Andrew Weatherall, Trevor Jackson and Tim Goldsworthy, Detachments have been blowing up across the country for a while now and their soon-to-be-released debut album, produced by SMD's James Ford, looks set to cast their reputation in stone.
Their sound draws parallels to the post-punk, ‘Cold Wave’ era and the electro, synth-pop scene of the late 70s and early 80s having developed a stark electronic, minimal sound with nods to bands like Suicide, early Human League, Fad Gadget and Cabaret Voltaire. Cold war psychic spying, office politics, social climbing, lost love, opiates, nihilism, Orwellianism, romanticism, transcendentalism are all themes that all insidiously surface across their album and incendiary live show.

Primarily known as the man behind cult imprint Dissident Records, Andy Blake has recently turned his hand to the sound of World Unknown - the south London lair he shares with Joe Hart that plays EBM, acid house, synth wave and electro through a booming soundsystem into the minds of impressionable young people. He'll be bringing his sound north to play alongside Detachments, for whom he's just delivered Slutty Fringe's "remix of the year".
