With a colourful career behind him LVCA aka Luca cazal continues to thrive in recent years via various avenues. His multi decade voyage in the industry as a DJ and producer has seen him craft a series of acclaimed monikers along the way, but his core ethos always remains the same. He never tires from developing his essential sound, and strives to blur the lines between genres as he moves. As time goes on Luca looks to maintain his musicianship by utilising minimal software, playing live on most of his tracks, keeping his focus to analog gear and sharing his expertise on vintage machines.
Innovative sounds for the dancefloor is the aim of the game with a seal of approval coming from artists such as Jane Fitz, Ivan Smagghe, DJ Masda, Quest, and many more in recent times.
The refined flavours LVCA continues to churn out have landed him releases on Alec falconer ́s Sock It To Me, Voigtmann’s Subsequent label, Kepler’s Perspective UK based Superlux Records, Opia and Cymatix.
The Italian artist also finds himself operating closely with Anthea’s Partisan, releasing on the label and frequently playing at their parties in Berlin, at Hoppetosse and Watergate.
Several releases are planned for 2023, including an outing on Barcelona based Cymatix, the label operated by Anah & Lumiere, 2 Ep ́s for UK label Opia and a collaborative Ep with Justin Pakzad for Barcelona label and distro Outside In.. Already Lined up for the first half of 2024 are a V/A on Barcelona vinyl only imprint Veintidos and a collab release with Otis for Bordello a Parigi.
Throughout his extensive journey LVCA has found his concentrated record bag land him gigs around the world including a recent US Tour, Farringdon hot spot Fabric, Berlin’s famous Panorama Bar, Hoppetosse and Club Der Visionaere, the legendary Glastonbury festival, and a long term residency at DC10 under his Luca Cazal moniker. Now residing in Barcelona Cazal also finds himself a frequent addition to the lineups at the popular and intimate local hub, Les Enfants Brillants.
Showing no signs of slowing down the humble musician is always looking to break the mould, creating new evolutions of his sound time and time again. Not many artists can say they have lived such a diverse journey in this amount of time so it is to no surprise Luca continues to reap the rewards as we look forward.
