Promotions brings you "Naughty-Call"—one more chance to take in the summer heat with two rooms of bass-thumpin’, booty-shakin’ beats aboard the Paddlewheel Queen. We’ll provide you with a naughty dose of music that will bring you across the electronic spectrum.
New York based South African Brendon Moeller will be providing us with an extended set. He has been producing music since 1994, under aliases Beat Pharmacy, Echologist, and his own name. His compositions have been released on Francois K's Deep Space Media, Third ear Records, Eskimo recordings, and his own recently launched label Steadfast Records, among others. With influences of dub, techno, jazz, afrobeat and psychedelics, his brilliant productions create an eclectic mix of sounds that are sure to light up the night. Brendon is one of the greatest contributors to the current global electronic music scene—his set is not to be missed!
Connie, our local homegrown techno queen, has been a prominent figure in the NYC underground house and techno scenes for the past eight years. A resident of Resolute and frequent traveler across the globe, she has brought her diverse soundscapes from local venues like Sullivan Room and Bar 13 to Rio de Janeiro, Berlin, and beyond.
New York native Fred P (aka Black Jazz Consortium) will bring his masterfully deep, dark and soulfully enriching house beats along our cruise. A 20-year veteran in the electronic world, Fred’s hypnotic grooves have been released on his own Soul People Music and on Underground Quality. Recently, he’s taken his talents overseas and has become extraordinarily popular in the global deep house community.
Craig Mitchell (a.k.a. oLIVERtWISTED, founder of Slanted Black Records) has been an active leader of the New England electronic scene. He was a founding member of The Orange Factory and is a resident at Boston’s only afterhours club Rise. His relentless energy is contagious—with his tribal, techy tracks, he’s a man not to be reckoned with. Craig never fails to provide the audience with an incredible vibe.
DJ Haitian (aka Adrian Sackheim) can hit a crowd with a variety of weapons from his dance music artillery. Hailing from Northampton, MA, Haitian has made his name in the Burlington, VT party scene. A tireless worker, he’s been an important part in founding the 2K Deep Crew, organizing and promoting numerous events in VT, and has also been featured at the critically acclaimed festival Camp Bisco.
Logo (aka Logan Zingus) was born and raised in Australia, and now resides in Burlington, VT. A longtime member of B-town’s 2K Deep Crew, his sets cover a variety of genres of electronic music. Most recently, he’s honed his skills in the house and tech house worlds, but also can rock it on the mic as an energetic MC.
For this cruise, leave your top-siders at home and be ready to get down’n’dirty on an endless voyage into the late summer night. Following the boat party, the festivities continue at the Sullivan Room with Basic NYC’s showcase of New York’s finest local talent.
