  • In our relentless pursuit for raw, DJ talent, People Must Jam are very excited to have lined up Mark Sevens Sydney debut, in a warehouse stylee! For the Djs and record nerds out there, you’ve no doubt heard of Marks legendary collection and amazing technical skills, with him oft being referred to as “the dj`s dj”. Moving from the UK to Sweden in the 90`s, Mark set up his own rare record shop “Jus Wax” (www.juswax.com) that supplies many of the big name Balearic, house and disco Dj`s with hard to find treats. His access to the rare and the strange led him to be asked to compile the second of Claremont 56`s super eclectic “Originals” comps, with Prins Thomas paying Mark tribute in the sleevenotes. He’s also mixed a limited release compilation for London’s famed Horse Meat Disco (with a second coming very soon) which now fetches large sums online. Marks involvement with underground music goes back to the early 80's and he was a regular at proto acid house nights Future and Shoom. Around this time he also organised the all nighter 'Bizzare' one of the original Balearic/early house all nighters (when it was illegal !) as well as many others in the late 80's. Mark now co-promotes parties 'The Lodge' and NY Social Club inviting guests such Prins Thomas (Feedelity) and Phil Mison (Reverso 68) to play alongside him. His online mixes, including the groundbreaking “a Slow Blow” have gained notoriety on www.djhistory.com with Mark praised for his eclectic leftfield selection of old and new music innovatively mixed. Mark is one of the few to really capture the understanding of Balearic style of music and how to play it. He's able to mix many genres whilst keeping respect to the music and the dancefloor in front of him. Did we say exciting ? In the past 12 months he has made a venture into production and his output has been breathtaking. In fact his new single is hot as hell! Mark will be laying down 4 hours of dance floor heat, so put the date in your diary, dust off your Hypercolour T shirt, and shine your most special dancing shoes for an all night shakedown. 150 tickets are available for $25 from 18th August. Expect to pay more on the door, but that’s providing there are any left, we plan on keeping this an intimate event! The venue is located a short distance from the city and further details will be announced to ticket holders and members of our Facebook group a few days before.
