Club music innovator and pillar of the Latin American scene, Matias Aguayo returns to Good Room on March 29. The Cómeme label founder will be joined by Dam Vera in the main room plus Irena Stanisic and Timo Lee in the Bad Room.
Aguayo's vocally-driven, infectiously rhythmic music doesn't fit into any particular genre. It makes sense considering he was born in Chile, raised in German and currently resides in Mexico, taking musical influence from all over the world. His oddball style and leftfield take on electronic music has made him stand out over his 20+ year career which has seen release on Kompakt, Soul Jazz Records as well as his own Cómeme. Aguayo started Cómeme in 2009 as a place for diversity, irreverence, musical insurgency and freedom.
Aguayo will be joined by Mexico City's Dam Vera on warm up. For the last 20 years, Dam Vera has been driving his native scene forward as a DJ and co-founder of the influential party Galaxie Nites and as a member of the Sunday Sunday crew. He just dropped his debut EP, Quina, on Permanent Vacation, exploring aspects of house, Italo disco and 2000s electroclash over three banging tracks.
Irena Stanisic returns to the Bad Room for another late-night set.Stanisic is a resident of the famous Papaya Playa Project, booker at Casa Jaguar and co-founder of Mexican Label Xeri Collective. Her style is a trip around the world, spinning you around subconscious moods of the mind and cosmos, from psychedelic earthy sounds to darker rhythms.
She will be joined by Good Room regular Timo Lee. She co-owns Bevy, a popular cocktail discotheque in Honolulu, the curator behind Good Bar’s vinyl sessions and label boss of Chomp! Chomp! Records. Timo's DJ sets are a vibrant blend of genres, ensuring a rhythmic experience that keeps your fingers tapping and heads bobbing.
