Patamamba:
Has been in Berlin for over 9 years and to date he has opened 2 record shops. In 2015 he opened Bikini waxx, and in 2019 Kimchi Records. He has released in God Helmet, Hypnotic Mindscapes and in Dec 2021 he released his second EP on Kimchi records.
Chicaiza:
Has been involved in the music industry for over 15 years. While living in Canada he used to run the infamous afterhours The Hive, in Montreal, which for a year pushed the sonic boundaries of Montreal. He has released in Where we Met, Trichome, Variable, Hypnotic Mindscapes and Kimchi Records. This year Chicaiza will start a new label (Children of the Sun) focusing mainly on his own productions. Co running Kimchi records has provided an opportunity to expand the sound and interest by discovering music going through collections purchased for the shop.
※Kimchi Records is a Record shop and label run by Chicaiza and Patamamba. The shop specializes in second hand vinyl as well as a small collection of new releases. The label has released music from Chicaiza, Kox Box, Patamamba, Tro, and Fauna Extinta aka Nicola Cruz. Their music style focuses on a variety of genres from techno, trance, electro, house and in between, from records that they find while purchasing collections for the shop. With all the digging work surrounding the shop, Chicaiza & Patamamaba have been able to establish Kimchi records as one of the most relevant shops in Berlin, while at the same time diving deep into countless collections that expand their own personal sound.
