Steven Julien (Funkineven) is a Black artist and entrepreneur. In a landscape increasingly dominated by privilege and oneupmanship his story is a rare one. Through clever networking and hard graft honing his musical skills behind closed doors, in 2019 he attained a debut release on Eglo Records, the label that launched the careers of Fatima and Floating Points under his previous pseudonym Funkineven. If you were at our open air in 2022 at Dokrijk, then you know that this edition can be very special.
Also new kid on the block OKO stellar will join us behind the DJ Booth with a bag of raw, sexy and soulful sounds.
To complete this line up, our host DTM Funk will open the night with a bag of sleezy Chicago and Detroit sounds.
With Black Gravity, the intention is to represent and transform the knowledge of black club music through, club nights, conversations, label, film, performances, exhibitions and listening sessions
