Strange Signals presents Peter Van Hoesen (3hrs LIVE)

  • Strange Signals is back in 2024 with the return of one of our very closest friends and all time favourite artists: PETER VAN HOESEN (Berlin/Belgium/Saigon) After hanging up the DJ headphones in 2022 for the foreseeable future (much to our disappointment), Peter has been exclusively performing his take on psychedelic techno as a live hybrid hardware set - the distillation of everything he has learnt on dancefloors over the last 30 years of being a leading techno and electronic music luminary. The live show is now the sole essence of his musical expression - a shaman like invocation over a kick drum that has been played out, tested and fine tuned as far out as Japan's hallowed Labyrinth festival, to the dancefloors of seminal clubs such as Tresor, and across the world to Saigon's favourite club the Observatory. Never two sets alike, this hybrid improvised set has graced the world's greatest festivals, clubs, basements and fields, and to Strange Signals he brings for the very first time ever, anywhere, a 3 hour live set. A world premiere. To say we're honoured is a profound understatement, and we are absolutely humbled to be able to share it with you on one of our favourite dancefloors. From Peter himself, he tells us to expect it to be trippier, more intense, psychedelic and colourful and all out greater. OK. Yes. Count us in. Supports for the night are Translate/Transitions' SUFAR. A DJ of growing notoriety, music curator supreme, sound system cre8tor and scene stalwart; after hearing what he did for on the warm for the Strange SIgnals secret Donato Dozzy after party, we just had to have him back for a properly billed show. The recording of that night has gone down as legend, those lucky to be on the floor blessed with one of the strongest sets of 2023. Strange Signal's own Matt Costain will be bringing his mix of heady psychedelia and techno with a big bag of surprises. Friday April 5th. Venue will be announced to ticket holders on day of the party. See you on the floor. -- Strange Signals would like to acknowledge that this event takes place on the stolen lands of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders; past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded -- Strange Signals has zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or predatory behaviour. We aspire for our events to be welcoming, inclusive and participatory for all - no matter gender, race, colour, sexuality or creed. Any behaviour that leads to others feeling uncomfortable will result in immediate non-negotiable removal from the venue.
