The next edition of the techno night will welcome an English producer, label owner Wigs records and resident of Tresor club Imogen. The line-up will be completed techno girl Zuzana Hakl and Lebanese Dj Namanariii based in Montreal. One of the best acid parties in town.
IMOGEN channels dystopian electro, rumbling
bass, UK techno and choppy breaks, drawing
influence from her storied years living in London
while adding her own spiky twist to the darker-
tinted tones of electronic music.
Listening to The Prodigy and Stanton Warriors at
home with her mum in Southampton sparked
IMOGEN's interest in dance music. An underage raver at the time, she immersed herself in the
scene, attending several house-led parties at her local club, Junk, before moving to London
aged 16 to study Music Technology. Here, she learnt how to produce and DJ while cutting her
teeth as a resident on Radar Radio. Featuring seminal guests like Ellen Allien and Umwelt,
IMOGEN established her vision from day one. At just 18 years old, IMOGEN landed a booking
at Berghain and has since evolved into the revered producer and DJ she is today.
In 2022, Voitax released her debut solo EP What?, which Resident Advisor described as 'Fast,
techno-infused electro from a rising star rapidly coming into her own.' Her track 'Up To No Good'
garnered praise from industry and dance music lovers alike. Earlier releases include her debut
tune 'Flesh' on Earwiggle in 2018, followed by Volts co-produced with Ben Pest.
Living in London allowed IMOGEN to soak up the city's rich club culture and finesse her craft.
As a resident on NTS Radio, she regularly plays B2B with her favorite artists, including Clouds,
Mall Grab and Otik. A former resident of fabric, IMOGEN has supported artists across the
electronic spectrum and has played throughout the UK, counting shows at Warehouse Project,
The Beams and festivals Glastonbury and Junction 2. Sharing her sound in Europe, she's
soundtracked Kraftwerk, Herrensauna, MELT festival, Awakenings and many more.
During the pandemic, IMOGEN explored ways to give back to the music community. She taught
Music Production lessons via Zoom, sharing knowledge in an accessible, friendly environment.
This led her to launch Wigs, an inclusive platform and party series that facilitates workshops and
provides a hub for aspiring artists to connect. IMOGEN curates Wigs events with the same
forward-thinking approach, breaking the circuit of tried and tested lineups and showcasing new
names on the night.
The first event kicked off in fabric as part of the club's 24-hour Continuum series. Since then,
IMOGEN has taken Wigs across the UK and Europe featuring Aquarian, Daria Kolosova and
Bjarki.
A multi-disciplined artist, IMOGEN is a member of T.I.P. aka TripSixVivo, IMOGEN and Paàl.
Together, the trio incorporated live producing and MCing, creating a hybrid of electro, grime,
drum'n'bass and techno. Their debut EP Neosynthesis displayed their intricate dynamic and
rugged aesthetic. Following their first performance at MELT festival in 2022, the group have
more projects and live shows in the pipeline for 2023.
Entering the next phase of her non-conformist career, IMOGEN's skill, dedication and grounded
attitude are reflected across all of her projects, making her a vital talent in today's electronic
realm.
