  • Gidge takes you to their electronic tundra Swedish duo Gidge, consisting of Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman, shape their electronic music from sound recordings they make in nature. The music works both on the dance floor and in more relaxed settings. Each track has its own atmosphere and feel, with powerful climaxes building from quiet pauses with vocal samples. Nilsson and Stolterman are known and praised for the inspiration they find in nature and the northern Sweden where they hail from. Their latest album, New Light, landed in 2021, and along with the release, the duo's record label, Atomnation, uploaded a lengthy YouTube video to accompany the album's nine songs. Each song features alternating flashes of nature, so listeners can immerse themselves in a visual and auditory forest bath or float away in a river. This April, new sounds are on the way in the form of the EP, Tundra. One of the EP's five songs is the single "Bleak", which fans have been enjoying since 2022. The song features a fragmented mix of pulsating synths, electronica and indie impulses. "Bleak" was also featured on the duo's latest single release "The Fells", which was released in early March. Their discography also includes the album Autumn Bells, the short film Lulin (in collaboration with Lampray), the mini-album LNLNN and the debut EP For Seoul. The Swedes have played sold-out club tours in London, Amsterdam, Paris and Stockholm and presented their live set to audiences at festivals in Mexico, Georgia, Turkey and Thailand.
