- We’re really excited to share our lineup for Sub Club Southside Weekender 2024 with you! We return to Queens Park Bandstand for our third year running with a weekend of dancing under the trees in Glasgow’s beautiful Southside, and we’re certainly not coming empty-handed! For this summers’ edition we welcome our two French born headliners, New York House Music Legend, François K, plus from London, the Talking Loud, Brownstone Recordings bossing Acid Jazz & radio pioneer, Gilles Peterson. Each will soundtrack an early evening set showcasing their own individual impeccable taste and their right on point musical selections. To close each night it seems only fitting as we celebrate 30 years of Subculture, that our own masterful resident pair Harri & Domenic will close out Saturday, and the incredible duo of Shanti Celeste & Peach will do the same on Sunday to bring down the curtain on what promises to be a memorable weekend. In addition we have invited the wonderful Rotterdam native Suze Ijó, definitely one to watch this year as she makes waves across clubs and festivals in Europe & beyond. Expect warm house flavoured grooves setting the scene perfectly for Francois K on Saturday evening. On Sunday, local hero and JAIVA head-honcho ButhoTheWarrior will bring his afro-infused selections and will be digging deep in advance of Gilles Peterson taking to the turntables, no doubt with some hidden gems to be heard and not to be missed. As always we’ve teamed up with the good people across the road from Queen’s Park - Radio Buena Vida - who have handpicked two of their favourite selectors - J Pang & JB Moss - to warm up the day and set the scene nicely for the rest of the lineup.
