__________
UK legend Special Request lands at Argo, ready to ravage its floor with a whirlwind of techno, speed garage and jungle. The night is introduced by Cilloman's trascendental selections, then Toumba entices us melting Middle Eastern elements with dubstep and breaks. Sgio Sgia closes with her blend of breakbeat, ukg & dnb.
__________
SPECIAL REQUEST (UK)
Special Request is an offshoot of a Grammy nominated, platinum-selling record producer who has been working tirelessly for over 20 years to redefine and reinvent all shapes of electronic music. In this project, inspired by the unruly conventions of UK pirate radio stations, he captures and reinvents the raw energy and diversity of the UK hardcore spectrum, spanning from heavyweight darkside techno to chaotic, eye of the storm jungle tear-outs. The end results are some of the most incendiary releases of the last decade.
TOUMBA (JO)
Born and raised in Jordan and now based in London, Toumba fashions lithe club bangers that melt Middle Eastern elements with dubstep basslines and clattering breaks. Last year he experienced a flurry of interest with his two releases on TSVI and Wallwork’s Nervous Horizon and Ben UFO's Hessle Audio.
Tonally ambitious and deviously percussive, his music takes the essence of Arabic tarab and shelat forms and dilutes it in a dancefloor- ready roil of booming bass and dissociated synths.
SGIO SGIA (IT)
A passionate dj and scratcher with an infinite love for broken beats.
Her musical identity has been defined over the years leading her to offer energetic and sophisticated dj set, with a blend of breaks, jungle, dubstep, UK garage and drum’n’bass.
CILLOMAN (IT)
An infallible selector capable of tracking down musical treasures lost in time and reworking them into sets whose reminiscences take shape in a completely personal narrative.
Music from every latitude and every era, from Africa to the suburbs of Detroit, through jazz and the new frontiers of contemporary electronics.
