Versatility, adaptability, and a penchant for improvising in the moment come naturally to Cypriot DJ and producer Alex Tomb. Yet, the trajectory of an experienced resident DJ coupled with strong musical acumen and attention to detail has shaped his path.
DJ and Producer Alex Tomb easily lets the sound move through various emotions and crafts a musical dialogue across different styles. In his DJ sets, he traverses diverse moods, ranging from deep and introspective to exhilarating and joyful.
One of the leading lights of the electronic scene in Cyprus over the years, his influence extends beyond the Mediterranean island, particularly during his time in Berlin. Since 2013, he has been a resident at the renowned Berlin underground daytime party, STAUB—a space recognized for its sense of community and diverse electronic music offerings. The connection between Alex and Staub is long and deep and also resulted in contributing to compilations on the label.
While now back in Cyprus, his Berlin years have left a mark on his career, featuring performances at iconic venues such as Tresor, Gare Porto and Kantine am Berghain.
Capparis Spinosa is the imprint founded by Alex Tomb in 2017 to present mainly his music, including exclusive collaborations and remixes. Boundless possibilities and open-ended concepts in both music and format characterize the label’s essence. The desire to express himself in multifaceted ways is clear in his role as a producer, too. His releases on Claudio PRC’s label 012 (" on the System Naturae III V.A.") and the consistently dancefloor-appropriate release on Maeve exemplify the artist’s commitment to expression over confinement. Notably, the Paludose Canter EP showcases his profound and emotive dancefloor expressions travelling across various moods.
Despite Alex Tomb’s already established presence in the European electronic scene, he remains far from finished exploring. Remaining open-minded and seeking constant progress as a producer, label owner, and DJ, he applies the wealth of wisdom and sound he has gained over the years. We look forward to welcoming him to WRONG.
WRONG is London's latest-running weekly techno party, known for it's full-on, serious music policy. Expect a journey from deep to hypnotic, raw techno.
Doors open 1am, close 8am, party finishes between 9am and 10am.
