It’s time to celebrate year 6!
How crazy is it to think that we started Tropic City over 6years ago. What a wild roller coaster we have been on together so come celebrate the occasion as we bring together some of our pals from across the globe. Get ready as we kickstart bright and early for a full day filled with drinks and dancing on Saturday 6th of April from 4pm until late late.
Behind the decks we have invited an exciting line up of selectors and Djs such as FU (Eureka!, JP/UK), M豆me (Nattō, JP/UK), Joe O (Yes Chef!, JP/UK) and PARK:ING (The Observatory, VN), bringing their signature sounds to the mix for one night only. Joining them are Bangkok mainstays and nomad Djs by the likes of Chucheewa&LogisticMan, Tam Bryce, Arriagada and Mumsfilibaba.
Manning the bar for the night, we are excited to host takeovers by familiar faces and regional talents. Some side-by-side rivalry as we welcome Chanel Adams from The Bamboo Bar, Fahbeer Sopajaree founder of Lost In Thaislation, Filippo Sanchi from Lennon’s, Gotji Dheeradon of the Sugarray Group. Alongside them, we have Jake Erder and Edgar Santillan, the guys behind Honky Tonks Tavern in Hong Kong, shaking and mixing some of their own signature concoctions for the night.
Remember, we got limited space at the bar so when we are full to the brim, it's full and we’ll be restricting entry

~ FU - EUREKA! ~
Born in Tokyo, raised in South London – FU brings her cross-genre curated sets to pilot every step on the dance-floor. Though heavily immersed in the world of Chicago, NY & Detroit house, influences of UK can be heard. Resident of QUE RICO & Eureka! parties in Tokyo, FU also holds monthly residency on Tsubaki FM (JP), as well as Foundation FM (UK). Playing internationally in MEX and PHL, FU showcases her capability, as she continues to hone her skills while playing alongside top tier producer/DJs like OSUNLADE, Mano le Tough, Zombies in Miami, Jitwam, Ash Lauryn, CHIDA and Hugo LX.
~ M豆ME - Nattō ~
Ben works as a regional marketing manager for a european audio technology company (AIAIAI) and passionate music lover and vinyl collector. Originally from the UK, but now based in Tokyo, Japan. He started DJing at university, from house party to house party with CDs. Once he invested in his first record player - he was hooked and hasn’t looked back. Loving the variety that a passion in music brings, Ben attempts to reflect that desire for exploration and discovery in the parties he creates - notably his irregular ‘Nattō’ & intimate non-profit festivals he has created in the heart of the Japanese countryside.
~ Joe O - Yes Chef! ~
DJ and visual designer from London, now based in Tokyo.
With a deep love of house music in all its forms, particularly deep and oddball late-90s UK tech house, he has become a mainstay in the Tokyo scene, regularly playing at venues like Red Bar, Tunnel and Womb. Joe O is a resident DJ at Shibuya’s legendary Oath, co-hosting the popular monthly ‘Yes Chef!’ party, as well as ‘Yes Chef! Radio’ which broadcasts weekly on Keakie Radio alongside shows from the likes of Amelie Lens, Soul Clap and Eats Everything. The past year has seen Joe O and ‘Yes Chef!’ bring Eden Burns, Jennifer Loveless and Melé to Japan for raucous parties at Tokyo’s Vent, with more big nights in the pipeline!
~ Jake Erder & Edgar Santillan - Honky Tonks Tavern ~
Since growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico - Edgar has travelled and lived in some of the worlds most exciting cities, building up an impressive +20 years of experience working in leading bars and restaurants in Mexico and London (UK). As of 2015, Edgar has been based in Hong Kong, where he acts as Co-founder of Honky Tonks Tavern (#98 Asia’s Top 50 Bars list 2023, #55 Asia’s Top 50 Best Bars List & One to Watch 2022), an American restaurant, wine and cocktail bar located in the heart of Soho, Central. Edgar’s charismatic personality and passion for paying homage to his Mexican heritage through one-of-a-kind cocktails has seen him take on exceptional roles in his blooming career, including launching and running successful bar programmes in Hong Kong at Jinjuu (2015-2018) and Terrible Baby, Eaton Hotel (2018-2020), both award winning establishments.
Jake is a passionate Bar Manager with experiences spanning over 14 years in bars and restaurants. Originally born in Hong Kong, Jake spent most of his life growing up in the North East of the United States — from Connecticut, New Hampshire to Rhode Island. Since venturing out of the North East, Jake has travelled and lived in Los Angeles, Bali, Jakarta and London, building up an impressive portfolio working in multiple roles and cities within the Food & Beverage industry. After moving back to Hong Kong in 2021, he ran the popular Dead& dive bar (2021), followed by successfully opening The Mixing Room bar in 2022. As of 2023, Jake currently heads Honky Tonks Tavern as Bar Manager (#98 Asia’s 50 Best Bars list 2023, #55 Asia’s 50 Best Bars ‘One to Watch’ 2022), a leading restaurant, wine and cocktail bar located in the heart of Soho, Central.
