- Under the Priori moniker, Québecois musician Francis Latreille has established himself as a crucial voice in underground techno. His 2019 full-length debut On A Nimbus, released on his own NAFF imprint, was a haunting foray into the possibility/impossibility of technological utopia, where elements of dub techno, drum & bass. IDM and tech house curiously converged, resulting in an album at once familiar, modern and undeniably singular. Francis followed that with a string of essential releases –from the slow-burning techy meditations of SCNand Little Flowerto the anthemic, trance-inflected Infinity–ending with 2021’s Your Own Power. Where On A Nimbusis overtly pensive and opaque, Your Own Powerrises to a lighter and more joyful atmosphere, full of fractalizing patterns, ear-prickling textures, and crystalline melodies that emerge and flicker in stunning detail. Here, as in all of Priori’s music, there remains an unresolved tension of opposites; between the biological and the synthetic, the actual and the possible, the positive and the negatively charged. In this way, this body work stands as a study of nature of a kind, a science of life in its myriad forms. Priori is also an accomplished mixing engineer; a quick search will reveal an exhaustive list of credits on projects by Roza Terenzi, D. Tiffany, Escape Artist, Bambii, Gene Tellem, Maara and ex terrestrial, to name a few. Between the label he runs with Adam Feingold (ex terrestrial) and the studiohe runs with Patrick Holland, Francis is quietly shaping the course of underground electronic dance music in Canada and abroad. Succubass gleefully carries the torch of the Pacific Northwest’s underground with her diabolical and sensual take on dance music. If you can drown out the fanfare of her recording at last summer’s Honcho Campout, you can hear Jess Duran’s innate ability on full display- sending the dancefloor into psychedelic wormholes with selections spanning from every direction. The adoration is well placed: Duran has garnered praise throughout North America for her sets at Sustain Release, Nowadays, Hot Mass, Homegrown Harvest, and WRECKED. With her chameleon-like ability to adapt to her environment while flexing her musical dexterity, it’s hard to predict what the outcome of a Succubass set will be. Odds are that you’ll be going deep… VERY deep. DJ Eft's artistic journey takes him on a mystical exploration, delving deep into the hidden corners of the Pacific Northwest's lush landscapes. Immersed in the natural wonders of the region's ancient forests and majestic oceans, he absorbs the sounds and flavors that permeate these sacred spaces. With each sonic encounter, DJ Eft weaves a tapestry of emotions and experiences that resonate with the essence of his surroundings. With roots in the pine barrens of New Jersey and streets of Philadelphia, DJ Eft, also known as Mugwert, has become an influential figure in the thriving music scene of his now home town Portland. Eft contributes regularly as a resident, poster designer, and curator to the budding two-room techno forward party and now festival- Osmosis. Dedicated in every sense to the work of creating space for dance DJ Eft lays his heart out in everything he does, culminating into something unmistakably emotional and earnest.
