Spearheading the Curated by Resident series on May 10 at the eminent resident of Bassiani and longest-standing journeyman since its foundation, Gigi Jikia, known as HVL, an enigmatic producer and sonic storyteller weaving tales with depths of melancholy through various aliases such as Kiaji, and Kiyadama. Jikia's musical odyssey began in the mid-2000s with indie rock band Landmark and electronic music duo Okinawa Lifestyle, which saw the release of five albums. His solo career took off in 2013 with the well-received Deep Survey EP on Rough House Rosie, followed by Flats on Voyager. In 2017, Jikia, alongside Davit Datunashvili and Irakli Abramishvili, founded the ambient-electronic project Masterknot, releasing their debut album, 9–15. Notable releases include the critically acclaimed albums Ostati in 2018 and Rhythmic Sonata in 2019, the latter inspired by the soundscape of the underground world of Dinamo Stadium. Jikia's extensive discography showcases not only his diverse musical range but also his unique artistic signature and musical philosophy, which have profoundly impacted renowned labels such as Bassiani Records, Transfigured Time, Organic Analogue Records, and Housewax. Independently releasing albums "Alignment," "Aura Fossil," "Vessel," "Resolve," "Lightsail," and "Dialogue" between 2020 and 2023, HVL demonstrates not only versatility but also a steadfast dedication to his craft.
HVL invites Zitto, the curator of Bassiani Records, and Nebbieri, a passionate music enthusiast. Producer, DJ, and creator of Brooklyn’s influential Mutual Dreaming party series and the Sustain-Release festival, Auroa Halal, deeply rooted in an underground, DIY approach that pushes forward-thinking sounds, production, and ideas. Her shadowy and psychedelic hardware live and DJ sets bear the hazy sensuality and metallic dance floor intensity. Polygonia, a multidisciplinary music and art project conceived by Lindsey Wang from Munich, a BLITZ club resident, whose sets are full of harmonic passages and extremely texture-heavy dark tracks. Besides her own IO and QEONE labels, her tracks have been released through Bassiani Records. Joining forces at HOROOM are Dito, whose primary driving force in the creative endeavours is the continual pursuit of growth while pushing the boundaries by shedding unnecessary constraints, and Morevi Records member and sound designer Skyra, alongside Martinou, a force of club pressure from Sweden. Acting as head of the electronic dance music label Sewer Sender. His music conveyed balances on a fine line between the conventions of house and techno, which are masked by a veil of mystery, where billowing pads and crooked rhythms merge to create a flow and groove of something more sublime.
