- Efìmera Dance Room is pleased to present the Pizzo Filicia Suburban Park in Maletto in the province of Catania (CT). Maletto is not only the highest municipality in the Province of Catania, located at around 1000 meters above sea level. It is also a village of evocative beauty, rich as it is in references to tradition, in evocative corners, in an agricultural culture that still permeates the lives of its inhabitants today. Not only tradition, in the history of Maletto, but also a look to the future with a strawberry festival, a typical local fruit, the protagonist of a huge festival - and absolutely worth seeing - which attracts citizens from all over Sicily. The surrounding area has been populated since the Neolithic, but the origins of Maletto date back to the 13th century when, in 1263, under Swabian domination, Manfredi Maletta, count of Mineo, built a watchtower and communication tower on a rocky spur, called “Fano Tower”. Since then, the place was called Maletto. The fortified tower became the "Castle" and the first houses arose around it. THE PARK The suburban municipal park "Pizzo Filicia" is located at approximately 1,140 m above sea level, a beautiful, Lush and well-equipped green area between the Etna Park and the Nebrodi Park. The geographical position of the same, quite singular and suggestive, gives the park, which in itself represents a panoramic point, scenarios of undoubted beauty, and at the same time acts as a shield and protection for the town from possible lava flows, giving the inhabitants of the place a vision of the Malatese greenery, which finds its maximum expression in this place. An alternation between arenite-calcareous rocks and dense tree and shrub vegetation, made up of Roveri oaks, Roverelle, Holm oaks and Bramble shrubs, accompanied by a body of water "the lake", characterizes this place, which during the over the years it has been the subject of studies, projects and insights for purely naturalistic, environmental and tourist purposes. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PERFORMANCE During the Boiler Room, 9 Live Artists will perform from 4:00 pm to 3:00 am for a total duration of 10 hours, at the Suburban Park of Maletto. Transcendence & Trip Records Live is a Live Streaming media dedicated to the promotion of purely Sicilian artists and places. We film and broadcast DJ sets and live shows on Facebook and YouTube in carefully selected and unusual places, with the aim of enhancing that place, making its history known to the world and raising awareness among new local generations. See you on the track, or rather, at the Maletto Suburban Park! \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Efìmera Dance Room è lieta di presentare il Parco Suburbano Pizzo Filicia di Maletto in provincia di Catania (CT). Maletto non è solo il comune più alto della Provincia di Catania, posto a circa 1000 metri s.l.m. È anche un borgo di suggestiva bellezza, ricco com’è di rimandi alla tradizione, di angoli suggestivi, di cultura agricola che permea ancora oggi la vita dei suoi abitanti. Non solo tradizione, nella storia di Maletto, ma anche uno sguardo al futuro con una festa delle fragole, frutto tipico del luogo, protagonista di una sagra enorme – e assolutamente da vedere – che richiama cittadini da ogni parte della Sicilia. La zona circostante è stata popolata sin dal Neolitico, ma l’origine di Maletto risale al XIII secolo quando, nel 1263, sotto la dominazione sveva, Manfredi Maletta, conte di Mineo, su uno sperone roccioso costruì una torre di avvistamento e comunicazione, detta “Torre del Fano”. Da allora, il luogo fu chiamato Maletto. La torre fortificata divenne “Castello” ed attorno ad esso sorsero le prime abitazioni. IL PARCO Il Parco comunale suburbano “Pizzo Filicia” sorge a circa 1.140 m di altezza slm, una bellissima area verde rigogliosa e attrezzata a cavallo tra il Parco dell’Etna e il Parco dei Nebrodi. La posizione geografica della stessa, alquanto singolare e suggestiva, dona al parco, che di per sé rappresenta un punto panoramico, degli scenari di indubbia bellezza, e al contempo funge da scudo e protezione per il paese da eventuali colate laviche, regalando agli abitanti del luogo una visione del verde malettese, che in questo posto trova la sua massima espressione. Un’ alternanza tra rocce arenite- calcaree e di una fitta vegetazione arborea e arbustiva, costituita da querce di Roveri, Roverelle, Lecci e arbusti di Rovi, accompagnati da uno specchio d’acqua “il laghetto”, caratterizza questo luogo, che durante il corso degli anni è stato oggetto di studi, progetti e approfondimenti a scopo prettamente naturalistico, ambientale e turistico. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PERFORMANCE Durante la Boiler Room si esibiranno 9 Artisti Live dalle 16:00 alle 03:00 per una durata complessiva di 10 ore, presso il Parco Suburbano di Maletto. Transcendence & Trip Records Live è un media in Live Streaming dedicato alla promozione di Artisti e luoghi prettamente Siciliani. Filmiamo e trasmettiamo dj set e spettacoli dal vivo su Facebook e YouTube in luoghi accuratamente selezionati e insoliti, con lo scopo di valorizzare quel luogo, farne conoscere la storia al Mondo e sensibilizzare le nuove generazioni locali.
