From May 29 to June 2, Amsterdam's FIBER Festival will host an intimate ninth edition. The festival is a five-day meeting place where audiovisual art, leading electronic music and urgent conversations are spread across 6 distinctive venues: Orgelpark, de Brakke Grond, BIMHUIS, Door Open Space, De Schietbaan, and Garage Noord. With the theme Outer/Body, FIBER challenges visitors to question the boundaries between bodies, mind, habitats, and technology.
Theme: Outer/Body
Where does our body begin and end? Is our skin the hard border between inside and outside, or have we awakened to ecological and technological realities that challenge and dismantle 20th-century binary thinking? Which bodies are welcome and which are not? The programme of the upcoming FIBER Festival puts these questions—and many others—at the centre of a multidisciplinary art programme; from installation art by talented new artists, to internationally prominent musicians, DJs and performers. They show new audiovisual stories that provide a glimpse into a yet unknown, more-than-human future.
