Join us at Østre as we welcome our dear friend Juhani Oivo, all the way from Finland, our local gem Julie Silset & the wizard Olalys on VJ duty for an epic visual feast! Dive into a sonic and visual journey of techno, tribal, and percussion-infused tunes that'll blow your mind!
With over 20 years of experience deejaying, Oivo’s specific but wide-ranging DJ sets connect dots between various manifestations of techno, house, dub and beyond. 4x4 beats blend into broken drum patterns and reverberated soundscapes with a love for UK soundsystem music
that can be felt in the abundance of weighty bass frequencies in the tracks he selects. For this Ideophone Records night Oivo will pack his trolley full of techno 12”s with earthy undertones and propulsive energy.
Julie Silset is a label manager, music producer and DJ based in Bergen.
A deep interest in vinyl and techno/leftfield club music forms the basis of her music, where she moves between meditative atmospheres and straight bangers! With hypnotic percussion, industrial textures mixed with atmospheric soundscapes, Silset explores the range of genres found in club music.
Before you hit the dance floor, catch a screening of selected Finnish and local music videos 21:30 to 23:00 (downstairs).
