Lasermagnetic sways back into London town in October with some bespoke party action at the H&G and an extended 6am license with all 3 rooms of the party pub given the full LM treatment as original residents Johny Chingas Hiller and Neil Thornton invite the renowned Moxie Edits Record label, which finally goes on tour, ...with appearances in Berlin, Paris and London. Who knows, it might be a one off only in their Moxie Disco Crew guise, following the last titled 'Goodbye" release.
Since Moxie came to existence in 2002 the worldwide Moxie collective, with key family members residing in Greece and Holland and over 20 vinyl editions up their sleeves - the label has found its way into many respected underground Djs' crates. Many will will be familiar with their trademark Horse with a twist logo, which could be seen on one of those 'must have T-shirts'.
Some mystery has been surrounding the label, indeed, due to guest 'Editors' rumored to be no other than Carl Craig, Recloose and Pilooski amongst other possible key players of the scene.
As varied as the trademark style of those involved is, the releases have overed anything from extended Salsoul breaks, via 80s extravagant electronic funk, darker sounding minimal wave and detroit proto-techno and flowery 60's cuts. Two favourites that have found their way into the Lasermagnetic playlist over the years are C2C4's version of 'Hit and Run' and Detroit's 'Chow Daddy'.Make sure you catch the Moxters' only Uk performance, who in their own words 'hope to enlighten you with their gospel'.
