磨き抜かれた'ハウス'のグルーヴで明かす一夜。Fumiya Tanakaと『CHAOS』の帰還に、[Perlon]首謀者Zipが帯同！
Fumiya Tanakaがオーガナイズするパーティー『CHAOS』が、1年ぶりに渋谷WWW Xにて開催される。
近年、欧州を中心にリヴァイバルが展開されるプログレッシヴ・ハウス、90s UKテクノ、レイヴに加え、忘れ去られかけている古典に倣う、ディープ・ハウスやシカゴ・アシッド等。それらを自在に行き来する現在のFumiya Tanakaのプレイはタグ付けが困難なほど奔放でありながら、同時にプリミティヴでタイムレスなグルーヴを展開する。これは、Karafuto、Individual Orchestraといった氏のハウス名義での探求の、時空を越えた結実とも言えるであろう。つまるところ、自身のレーベルである[Sundance]や名門[Perlon]を通じて'ミニマル'の代名詞ともされた氏のストイックなグルーヴは、新たな自由を得たようでいて実は一貫し、そして今、深度とスリルを増している。Soundcloudで公開されている昨年の『Dimensions Festival』や『CHAOS』の録音から、その断片が窺い知れるが、とにかく、今、物凄いことになっているのだ。
そんなFumiya Tanaka、そして『CHAOS』の帰還に、今回は盟友Zipも帯同する。ZipことThomas Franzmannは、過去10年以上に渡りテクノ/ハウスにおいて革新的な役割を果たしてきたレーベル[Perlon]の首謀者の1人であり、ここ日本でのプレイは’18年にCONTACTで開催された『CHAOS』以来、6年振りだ。氏のプレイもまた、（[Perlon]でディレクションされてきた諸作品と同じように）フロアにおいて屈服せざるを得ない忘我的な抑揚と驚きに満ちており、そして何より、ダンスフロアに対して誠実だ。
キャリアを通じて切磋琢磨を繰り返してきた、信頼のおける両名の化学反応は、長年のファンであれば押して知るところであろうし、この数年の間に目覚めたクラブ新世代も、間違いなく虜にするだろう。求道極まる半永久的ハウス・グルーヴの真髄を、お見逃しなく。

A night of finely-honed house groove. Fumiya Tanaka’s “CHAOS” returns with Perlon’s label head Zip!
Fumiya Tanaka's “CHAOS” party will take place at Shibuya WWW X after a year.
While moving between progressive house, ‘90s UK techno and rave music, which have been seeing resurgence in Europe in recent years, and deep house and Chicago acid that tread in the footsteps of almost forgotten classics, Tanaka’s recent playstyle is so uninhibited and difficult to tag, but at the same time it develops a primitive and timeless groove. This is the timeless fruition of his explorations under his house moniker, such as Karafuto and Individual Orchestra. After all, his stoic grooves, synonymous with “minimalism” that can be heard through his records on his own imprint Sundance and the esteemed label Perlon, seem to have gained a new freedom, but in fact they have remained consistent, and are now gaining another depth and thrills. The recordings of last year’s Dimensions Festival and CHAOS which you can check on Soundcloud, give us a glimpse of that, but at any rate, this is beyond remarkable right now.
For this triumphant return of Tanaka and CHAOS, he will be joined a longtime friend Thomas Franzmann, aka Zip. This is the first time in six years to play in Japan for Franzmann, one of the masterminds behind Perlon, a label that has played a revolutionary role in techno/house over the past couple of decades (last time he played at CHAOS at now-defunct CONTACT in 2018). His performance (like all of the works he directed on Perlon) is also full of ecstatic tone and surprises that compel you to surrender on the floor, and above all, he is faithful to the dance floor.
The chemistry between these two, who have been in friendly competition throughout their careers, is something their longtime fans can easily imagine, and a new generation of audience who have awakened in the past few years will no doubt be captivated as well. Don't miss their quintessence of enduring house grooves.
