  • Bonga Concert Approximately fifty years ago, the Guinean, Cape Verdean, Angolan, and Mozambican people catalyzed the Portuguese Revolution through their anti-colonial movements, bringing the inevitable into reality. José Adelino Barceló de Carvalho, better known as Bonga, emerged as a vibrant legend within Angola’s independence movement. Bonga’s music is a seamless blend of semba and kizomba rhythms, with fado influences, and samba elements. He made a groundbreaking entry onto the global music stage with his revolutionary album Angola 72, a timeless classic revered for its artistic merit as well as its role in documenting a crucial moment in Angolan history. Through his lyrics and melodies, Bonga captures the spirit of the liberation movement, addressing themes of resistance, solidarity, and the longing for freedom. Today, Bonga looks back on a prolific career spanning over five decades, marked by approximately forty albums and around 400 songs. In his latest work, Kintal Da Banda (2022), he revisits the formative spaces of his childhood, notably the courtyard of his family home, where he cultivated his social and political consciousness, as well as his capacity for both tenderness and rebellion. Through his music and captivating performances, the spirited 81-year-old invites his audience to share a space of conviviality. His compositions resonate deeply with the spirit of liberation, serving as anthems for those engaged in different struggles for freedom , as a terapia that offers solace in shared experiences, fostering a sense of solidarity and emotional resilience. Dengue Dengue Dengue Live Set Felipe Salmon and Rafael Pereira, two producers, DJs, and graphic designers who have been based in Europe for a decade, are the duo behind the Dengue Dengue Dengue’s masks. They are known for their innovative approach to experimental bass music, expertly blending traditional rhythms from the Andean and Peruvian jungle with influences from other geographies, resulting in a unique fusion of sound and visuals. Their musical palette spans across genres, ranging from psychedelic cumbia to dub, from salsa to footwork, and from tribal to techno. For Sonic Pluriverse Festival: Terapia, they invite percussionist Miguel Ballumbrosio to join them onstage, who is deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of Afro-Peruvian communities. These communities have preserved and passed down their musical traditions through generations. Together, they promise to deliver a captivating performance that celebrates the diversity and richness of Afro-Peruvian rhythms, such as Festejo and Landó, with heavy bass lines that move both body and soul. VHOOR DJ Set At 25 years of age, VHOOR, both as a solo artist and as part of the Weird Baile crew, is at the forefront of electronic music production, constantly pushing boundaries and seeking new sonic horizons. Drawing from the roots of baile funk, he revisits the vibrant Miami bass and Latin freestyle that were first ignited in the favelas, enriching them with diverse international influences such as amapiano, UK garage, and breakbeats. In his groundbreaking album Baile, a collaborative effort with Brazilian rapper FBC in 2021, VHOOR once again delves into the essence of the genre, offering a contemporary interpretation that resonates with both traditionalists and modern listeners alike. Through his innovative production techniques, VHOOR not only develops new artistic trajectories, but also provides a releasing perspective to his audience, guiding them on a transformative journey of sonic exploration and cultural immersion.
