The already fifth edition of KORUS and the first one this year is coming up. It has been over a year since the Ozone Collective celebrated their sold-out debut, and now they are back with an all-groove lineup, consisting of two outstanding headliners, a talented newcomer, and support from one of the Ozone residents. As always, it's at the halle02 club, with its own lighting and the unmistakable sounds of the Funktion-One.
This time, we have Gockel with us, formerly a Schranz producer, whose legendary releases like "Lucifer" (Cannibal Society) or "Refreshing" (G-not Records) have been celebrated and played by giants like Klangkuenstler or Dax J, and whose tracks left a timeless statement in the scene with remixes by DJ Emerson, Greg Notill, O.B.I, or SveTec. After a break in the music scene, he is back and now fully focused on Hardgroove, with new driving, melodic, and rhythmic releases and sets, premiering on Grab The Groove or BCCO. He will play a hybrid set (vinyl/digital), consisting of old techno classics from the 2000s, mixed with a more modern sound.
Also joining us is Cheka, who already showcased her talent last summer at the open-air area "Kleine Freiheit". The Ukrainian is currently pursuing her DJ career in Berlin and is releasing one legendary Hardgroove track after another. She has played in clubs in the capital and beyond, such as RSO, ://about blank, Fuse (Belgium), Szpitalna (Poland), or Scur14 (Norway), as well as regular gigs in her home country Ukraine with her residency at Laboratorium. Through her performance at HÖR Berlin, she once again demonstrated her talent to the world and then used the platform once again to draw attention to the situation in Ukraine. Artists like Cheka are incredibly important in the scene, and therefore we are all the more excited to have her behind the decks again.
Opening the night will be the newcomer Shunja, who found his passion for music with artists like Luke Slater, Answer Code Request, or Blawan and quickly developed his own driving, dark, and atmospheric sound. Also joining us is Ozone resident Flemmy, who wonderfully completes this groove lineup.
