There are certain celestial bodies whose orbits cross Japan more frequently than most. Donna Leake is one such orbiting star, who has formed a special connection with Japan over the past several years through her treasure trove of rare vinyl records, spanning jazz, funk, reggae, dub, samba, raga, and cut with the rhythms and grooves of Africa, South America, the Middle East, and the Far East alike. The sound of Donna is familiar yet always surprising, as she takes you on her magic carpet around the world and back again in the span of a couple of hours. This time she has three. She’ll play between friends Rintaro Sekizuka and shunhor, who will carve out a perfect alcove of space-time to slow down her orbit, and share her star’s vibrant glow. ishinoko’s DJ Lawson will close out the night for the fearless outer-world voyagers.
This event will be the continuation of ishinoko’s growing friendship with Daikanyama’s Haremame, a hidden gem of a live music venue in a cosy cavern beneath the streets of Tokyo, full of warm and friendly staff, delicious home-made drinks, impeccable Meyer-driven sound, and a frizzante energy that cannot be simply put into words. 軌道が他の天体よりも頻繁に日本を横切る天体がある。ドナ・リークはそのような軌道上のスターの一人である。ジャズ、ファンク、レゲエ、ダブ、サンバ、ラーガ、そしてアフリカ、南米、中近東、極東のリズムとグルーヴに彩られた貴重なレコードの宝庫である。ドナのサウンドはおなじみでありながら、いつも驚きを与えてくれる。彼女は魔法のじゅうたんに乗って世界中を旅し、数時間のうちにまた戻ってくる。今回は3時間。友人のRintaro Sekizukaとshunhorは、彼女の軌道をゆっくりとしたものにするために完璧な時空の入り江を切り開き、彼女の星の生き生きとした輝きを分かち合う。ishinokoのDJ Lawsonは、恐れを知らない外界の航海者たちのために夜を締めくくる。
このイベントは、ishinokoが代官山の「Haremame」と親交を深めていることを記念して開催されるものだ。代官山の「Haremame」は、東京の街の地下にある居心地の良い洞窟にある隠れた宝石のようなライブハウスで、温かくフレンドリーなスタッフ、美味しい自家製ドリンク、非の打ちどころのないマイヤー・ドライブ・サウンド、そして言葉では言い表せないようなフレッシュなエネルギーに満ちている。ぜひ足を運んでみてください。一緒に踊れるのを楽しみにしています <3
