- From the minds of the people who pretend to be the persona of the person from the movie (good lawd...) we present to you a soon-to-be-legendary transcontinental fetish-forward Pride 2024 collab between Washington, D.C.’s own NOXY (f.k.a. NOXEEMA JACKSON) and Bogotá, Colombia’s pre-eminent queer techno function, BULTO. If you live on the East Coast, you might recognize the BULTO collective from their explosive 2021 XXXtraween collaboration with Unter in NYC, but well-traveled heads will know that the founders have been hard at work for some time, establishing the series as one of South America’s hardest-hitting sanctuaries of the queer underground. The “sanctuary” part is no empty embellishment. Like NOXY, the BULTO parties prioritize safety and an open environment that centers queerness but is welcoming to all. Simultaneously, bookings of luminary artists like Schacke, Blasha & Allatt, MARRØN, and Mama Snake have done a lot to telegraph the party’s seriousness and importance. As the collective’s name brazenly implies, BULTO is here to let you know they are a de facto heavyweight of the global rave scene. As BULTO resident and co-founder, JESUZ X has made a name for himself with plum gigs at events like WHOLE United Queer Festival in Berlin, Colombia’s Baum Festival, and Chicago’s TRQPITECA. And in a fad-obsessed music landscape, JESUZ X is one DJ who values pushing techno into the future yet never sacrificing the quality and underground grit that has made BULTO famous. Because hard techno hedonism, respect on the dance floor, and a beautifully executed good time can coexist — that is the gag and the good news, and NOXY is excited to welcome JESUZ X and the BULTO spirit and aesthetic to DC this PRIDE.
